Here’s an iPhone tip I learnt recently: When you want your iPhone camera to focus on a specific subject, press and hold that area on your screen until a yellow box appears and says ‘AE/AF lock’. This locks both the focus and exposure of the subject. It’s particularly useful when you have constrasty light and or want to your throw the background out of focus and draw attention to a foreground subject. It also works for portraits.
