359/365 – A full moon at Christmas

If you weren’t aware, for the first time in 38 years we had a full moon on Christmas day.   Now there won’t be a full moon on Christmas day for another 34 years, so of course I had to take a photo.

My parents live in Jura mountains so we drove to the highest view point to watch the moon rise over Geneva.   It was huge and fabulous!  My photo doesn’t really do it justice and I kicked myself for not bringing a remote shutter release and a stable tripod, but you get the idea.  It also looks ever so slightly distorted due to the cloud cover!
