255/365 – Bird Bird Birds

Animals, Nature, Photography, Wildlife

We spent most of the day dodging rain clouds as we traipsed around Bolton Abbey, nr Skipton in North Yorkshire. The ruin is technically a priory founded in the 12th Century and is the subject of many photos, but not mine on this particular day.  Instead took my 400mm F/4 prime lens hopeful for some wildlife along the edge of the river’s Wharfe.    When the sun briefly poked through the clouds, the kestrel (pictured) flew onto a branch above us, ruffled his obviously drenched feathers and catch a few rays.  Awww!

  1. Wow Amy, talk about being in the right place at the right time, fantastic shot of kestrel

    • I know!!! My only grumble is that the sky wasn’t blue with fluffy white clouds! Guess you can’t have everything!
