186/365 – Shining Tor

Black and white, Landscape, Photography

Up early to join the IJWTGP group on a photo walk around Shining Tor, a hill in the Peak District which, at its summit and on a clear day, you can see 7 counties (apparently – I can’t verify this even after a Google search)!

It was an enjoyable walk despite the high humidity, the and grey clouds and swarms of biting things.  At the top we we had expansive views in all directions of gently rolling hills and the Cheshire Plains.  We paused to click away but I refrained from photographing the vista as I felt it was too hazy – instead, I photographed the signpost, an inscribed seat, the winding path and the dominant stone walls which I love!
