175/365 – Vibrance

Under grey, gloomy skies we drove from our campsite on the Llyn Peninsula to our campsite in Snowdonia National Park (Beddgelert).  After being spoilt by the weather over the previous few days, we were a little despondent but decided to visit Portmeirion – a bizarre but enchanting mediterranean style village built over 50 years by a man who just wanted to prove it was possible to renovate an area but not destroy it.    The brightly coloured buildings sit nestled on the Glaslyn estuary drawing tourists from far and wide.   It is worth a visit to visit this most un-Welsh of villages in Wales.
