146/365 – Egret

Animals, Nature, Photography

Today we travelled from Yorkshire to Northumberland with a brief stop on the way to saunter around RSPB Saltholme.   It was pretty quiet with the exception of some noisy black headed gulls and their adorable chicks which were bouncing up and down like fluffy rubber balls and practicing their flapping (unfortunately I couldn’t photograph them due to distance).   We did spot an egret who looked sulky and did nothing but stand and stare for 20 minutes –  so we gave up and headed back to the car to complete our journey.  Therefor a grumpy looking egret is all you’ll get for today’s image… But tomorrow we head to the Farne Islands where I’m hoping to photograph a range of seabirds (fingers crossed for the puffins).
