12/365 – The Cutting Edge

Architecture, Photography

I was short for time this evening but had a last minute flash of inspiration on my way to Sheffield train station.  I only had my bag to rest the camera on and because I was using my 50mm lens, I had to move backwards and forwards several times before I managed to get it all in frame!  I know I’m not the first to photograph the Cutting Edge from this angle – but I do love its aesthetic!

Sheffield City Council’s website tells us that the Cutting Edge is 90m long and 5m high at its tallest point, and combines the city’s famous resource – steel – with water and light.  It certainly makes for a grand entrance to the city.

Why not leave a comment - it will keep me motivated!
