I was out early again today, hoping to take a few outdoor/nature shots. The weather was grim and I was completely uninspired. Back at home, I was sitting at the dinner table when the sun popped up and shone gleefully into the room. The golden light was perfect for a bit of macro and these seedpods proved to be a great subject! Funny, but I’ve had these seedpods on my window sill for nearly a year – it’s about time I did something with them.
As for macro, this is a discipline that requires an awful lot of patience. Focus, re-focus, tripod up, tripod down, subject forwards, subject backwards…phew! This is NOT a genre that I naturally take to – it feels far more labour intensive than waiting three hours for a kingfisher to land on a branch!
